The Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy offers a non-renewable scholarship to high school seniors who after graduating are pursuing a college degree (Associates or Bachelor). Students from all backgrounds and income levels are eligible for the Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy Martin Luther King Scholarship.



Scholarship Award

The Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy will give 2 scholarships:

  • 1- $500 scholarship or
  • 2- $250.00 scholarships


Distribution of Award 

    • Award recipients will be contacted via US mail, once the determination has been made.
    • All awards will be distributed to recipients in a timely manner once the CCCC has received the *Acceptance Letter from the school they will be attending.

       *Note: Your acceptance letter is necessary for the distribution of your award, not for the initial application process.


Eligibility

  • High School Senior within the Delaware County Area
  • GPA = 3.0 grade point average or above, based on a 4.0 scale
  • Sealed copy of transcripts
  • Acceptance letter from the school the applicant will be attending


Applicant Evaluation

Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their past academic performance, written essays, their personal achievements, their involvement in community service and their commitment to their local church.

Scholarships are awarded to seniors who promote cultural diversity, respect and the realization of Dr. Martin Luther King’s dream. Selection also considers how the student has shown dedication to academics as well as faithfulness to their local church.


Application Procedure

  • Applicants will need to submit, in writing (Typed), a letter from your local pastor to The Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy as to “Why you need the scholarship?”
  • Applicants will need to submit a two page, double-spaced, typed essay on “Why I need this scholarship?”

  • A sealed copy of transcripts

  • A letter of recommendation: Guidance counselor or teacher. 
All listed items MUST be turned in with your application.


Application Acceptance

After you have been notified that your application was accepted you will be required to do the following:
Submit a written essay which contains the following elements:
(Typed, double spaced and no less than 2 pages)

    • Personal achievements
    • Involvement in community service
    • Commitment to your church
